Yarmouth, N.S. – Ignite Labs and the Western Regional Enterprise Network are proud to present an exciting opportunity for newcomers to rural Nova Scotia.

The first Ignite Ignition event will be held at Ignite Labs on January 19th from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. The day will be filed with guest speakers, networking, and innovation challenges to help develop an innovation community with newcomers to Southwestern Nova Scotia.

Doug Jones, Executive Director and Founder of Ignite Labs, is eager to see the innovation and community spirit brought forward during the day.

“A key way to grow and expand our economy is through immigration and welcoming newcomers to rural Nova Scotia. During the Ignition event we will be fostering the extensive education and potential waiting to be tapped into.”

Brenda LaGrandeur, Manager – Connector Program at the Western Regional Enterprise Network is also incredibly excited about the event.

“With more and more newcomers choosing Western Nova Scotia as home, the community is recognizing this untapped pool of experience and talent. Through the Connector Program, I am fortunate to get to meet skilled people who have much to offer and contribute to the economy of our region. The Ignition event will be a day where many of these newcomers can come together to learn more about the region and its resources, share their talents and meet other newcomers who are interested in creating a more innovative and entrepreneurial community.” added Brenda.

If you are new to the area, are interested in innovation and entrepreneurship, or would just like to be part of the event, register today. There is no cost to attend the event and food and beverages will be provided for the day.
